Clear Ear
I am registered with the Health & Care Professions Council and a member of the British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists. I follow guidance set by the British Society of Audiology. I have experience working for both the NHS & private sector as a Lead Audiologist.
Irrigation is used when the wax is close to the eardrum. Warm water is used to gently flush out the wax from the ear canal. This method uses the Bionix SprayWash system which is the safest approach in these circumstances.
Medical grade silicone is gently dispensed into the ear, filling and capturing the internal shape. The impression material takes approximately 5 minutes to cure, following this, the mould is carefully removed from the ear and can be used for a variety of hearing protection solutions.
At Clear Ear, only the safest methods are used and all appointments are carried out by a fully trained lead audiologist. The appointment is quick and painless, you are in safe hands.
Olive oil drops can be used a couple of days before treatment to help soften hard wax. However, the wax can be removed without it in urgent situations.
Your appointment is booked for 30 minutes, in the majority of cases, this is usually enough time to fully remove the ear wax. In rare occasions where the wax is very hard or impacted, more than one appointment may be required. Please see the prices section for more information.
Clear Ear follows strict guidlines set by the British Society of Audiology to safely take impressions of the ear for use when purchasing custom hearing protection solutions e.g. plugs used when sleeping, swimming, motorcycling etc.
Clear Ear is partnered with Ultimate Hearing Protection Systems, one of the leading UK manafacturers of custom hearing protection products. Impressions can be taken prior to placing an order or once an order has been placed. Impressions can be used with any provider of hearing protection solutions as preferred.
Your appointment is booked for 30 minutes for impression taking only, if wax is present during the initial examination, a second appointment may be neccessary to remove wax in the initial appointment.

Once you have arrived at Three Mile Cross, Reading please take a left at the small roundabout towards Church Lane.
Turn left at the roundabout into the Taylor Wimpey Orchard Rise development onto Hayes Drive and follow the road straight down.
Take a left onto Hayes drive – leading to Bowling Green followed by another left turn onto Bowling Green.
Head straight and take a final left turn. Continue straight and number 23 will be on your left hand side (white house with black door).
